Where is the site?

The proposed site for new homes is located to the north of Bruton, off Cuckoo Hill on the A359 (linking Frome to Yeovil). The site is immediately adjacent to the existing cemetery and allotment gardens in the north of the town.

What is proposed on site?

We are proposing:

• 49 new homes, 35% of which will be affordable
• Vehicle and pedestrian access from Cuckoo Hill (A359)
• A large area of landscaped public open space in the centre of the site
• An on-site attenuation pond to provide enhanced surface water drainage
• An onsite package treatment plant to address high phosphate levels in the local water system
• The fallowing of and planting of native woodland on neighbouring land
• The retention of existing oak trees on site
• Traffic calming measures on Cuckoo Hill
• Ecological enhancements throughout the site
